Starting an app on machine startup

Many of you may be aware that applications often run in the background without you being aware of them.
Some may run as a Service, whereas others might automatically start when your machine is turned on (booted).

An example of this, is the Windows Desktop application for Spotify (download here).
During the installation process, you are given the option to make Spotify automatically start when you turn your machine on.

Now, sometimes there are times where a program is depended on that it makes life easier to simply have it always running. This is where we get to business.

Windows has a folder called “Startup”. Any application shortcut that exists in this folder will be executed during the machines start up process.

You can easily access this folder with the run command “shell:startup”.
