SQL Server Management Studio allows you to set up custom keyboard shortcuts. These are a huge help, especially if you try out a few examples I’ve listed below.
Firstly, you can get to the Keyboard menu from Tools > Options.
SELECT TOP 100
If you enter “select top 100 ” as an option – lets say [CTRL+4], you can then select the name of a table, and just hit [CTRL+4].
As an example, let’s say you have a table named “Property”.
Property WHERE CreatedDate > '2015-01-01' ORDER BY ID DESC
All you need to do is to highlight this text and hit [CTRL+4]. Amazing.
